Snehapanam means the intake of medicinal oils and/or clarified butter (ghee). Ghee, the golden elixir in Ayurvedic treatment, is produced by means of a laborious process. It is an excellent neurological tonic because it nourishes the brain and nerves.

Ghee stimulates an intense and long-lasting physical detox. During this cleansing process, fat-soluble toxins are excreted via the intestine.

Snehapanam is used therapeutically and as a preparation for Panchakarma treatment.
